Private Jet Charter Cost – Very Light Jets
Private Jet Charter Cost - Very Light Jets (VLJ) Very light jets are a marvelous method of private air travel, allowing a smaller number of passengers than a light jet, and slightly reduces range. These Very light jets are perfect for small flights under 1,500 nautical miles. Normally configured for 4-6 passengers, very light jets are very easy to classify. Any jet aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of under 10,000 lbs is considered a very light jet. While only capable of flights under 1,500 nmi, these very light jets can takeoff and land at smaller, municipal airports and have much lower operating costs than light jets do. Even though the operating cost of these aircraft are much lower, they still manage to fly at cruise speeds very close to those of a light jet. This opens a great deal of options if traveling smaller distances with a reduced passenger count. In terms of the private jet charter cost, a 1,000 nautical mile flight with 3 passengers on a light jet would cost approximately $3,000 an hour whereas on a very light jet, the cost comes down to a much more manageable $2,200 an hour. Both aircraft would take the same amount of time to complete the trip, and would be equally comfortable for the selected passenger count. The VLJ category of jets is very small, and is only home to a handful of aircraft. Many other very light jets are in development due to the success of the VLJs already in production. The most popular VLJs in development are: The HondaJet, Diamond D-Jet, eclipse 400, and the Cirrus Vision SF50. All of these aircraft have an estimated range of approximately 1,200 nautical miles and
