Gulfstream announces G500 and G600 October 14, 2014 - Gulfstream today announced a new pair of high-end business jets: an all new G500 and G600 will be available for delivery in 2017 and 2019 respectively. The all new G500 taxied up to the viewers in Savannah, Georgia, under it’s own power, showing us that these aircraft will be here in the not too distant future. The all new G500 and G600 both feature the speed and aeronautical prowess of the very popular G650. Both aircraft are powered by Pratt & Whitney PW800 engines, these aircraft will be quieter, more fuel-efficient, and offer lower emissions even given the Mach .90 cruising speed with a maximum operating speed of Mach .925. The G500 will fly 5,000 nautical miles at Mach .85 or 3,800 nm at Mach .90. The G600 is capable of flying 6,200 nm at Mach .85 or 4,800 nm at Mach .90 Both aircraft can be configured for up to 19 passengers, the G600 offering 4 living areas, and 3 living areas on the G500, this paired alongside both forward and aft full sized lavatories or galleys. The Gulfstream G500 and G600 are new additions to the Gulfstream’s fleet, but won't replace the G450 and G550. Both are designed to be a near brother of the already superb G650, offering the same passenger capacity, the same full three-axis digital fly-by-wire system, and the same signature oval windows, the largest of any business jet. "The active control sidesticks enable both pilots to be consistently on the same page, enhancing safety, no other business aircraft on the market has this feature."
